The Embassy of Portugal in Ireland is delighted to announce the appointment of George Barter as Honorary Consul in Cork.

George R Barter is chairman of J. Barter Travel Group, a privately owned family business based in Cork and one of the largest and most well-respected travel companies in Ireland.

His consular jurisdiction includes the whole of Co.Cork and it is envisaged that he will promote closer economic and commercial ties between the two countries, as well as providing emergency consular assistance.
George Barter ´s extensive ties to Portugal and knowledge of the local economy mean that he is well placed to work with both Irish and Portuguese nationals.

The Embassy is looking forward to supporting and working with Mr. Barter in his new role.
